The idea of those battles is pretty simple: when a clan wants to attack another clan's seaport, they need to sign it some time earlier so the clan knows they will need to defend their seaport. The battle would resolve around taking some historic seaports, which would be limited in number so not every clan could own a seaport, which would provide some bonuses to battle results that would make people want to actually play them.
